I'm new to crowdfunding. How does this work?
When you pledge (or “back”) this campaign, you’re helping me bring this game to life! If you don’t have a BackerKit account, you’ll create one, and then your pledge will be collected from your credit card/PayPal at the conclusion of the campaign only if the campaign is successfully funded. This pledge does not include shipping.
After a few weeks, you’ll get a backer survey where you can put in your shipping info. This campaign will charge shipping separately, once the game is ready to ship out. Shipping for a single copy of the game should be around $5-7 USD if you’re in the US, and it’s likely going to be around $25-35 USD if you’re based somewhere else.

When will you ship the game? What if I move?
Because of the extended amount of time between the end of the campaign and when the game will be produced, shipping fees and your address will be collected shortly before the shipments begin.
I estimate shipping will happen, at earliest, in October.
Before I ship out the game, I’ll “lock” the shipping address - and you’ll get a 48-hour notice before I do. Until then, you can always update your shipping address.

How long do I have to fill out my survey?
Once surveys go out, you’ll have up to three weeks to fill it out.
I’ll send a reminder before the last day to take surveys. After that, unsubmitted surveys will be seen as a donation to the Order of the Dark Wheel. Fulfilment of rewards for said pledges with surveys submitted after that date may or may not occur.

Can I get a refund?
Once the campaign finishes and funds have been collected, since the funds from the campaign are all allocated towards production and packaging and shipping, there are no refunds available. Sorry!

How does the custom portrait thing work?
You’ll submit a photo of yourself (shoulders and above) to be painted in the style of the other game art, along with the name you’d like to have printed on the cultist card.
You’ll also have to e-sign a contract giving me copyright of the painted portrait. You’ll gain a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use the image in non-commercial capabilities (ie. digital avatars, profile photos, posting on social media, etc.).
Note - I’ve learned from Boaty McBoatface. Names for cultists must be reasonable names for average human beings interested in the occult. Inappropriate names will be rejected and if we can’t come to a reasonable, timely agreement, I’ll either use your real name if given or I’ll make one up.

How does the All-Seeing Oracle session work?
You’ll schedule a 20-minute Zoom session with the All-Seeing Oracle and her assistant, The Attendant. The Oracle will possess The Attendant and counsel you on your future.
Remember, she’s not great at giving specific answers about exact dates and certain outcomes, but she’s pretty good at coaching people through difficult decisions.

How long do I have to fill out my backer survey?
You have three weeks to fill out the survey, after which I’ll assume your pledge was a donation to the Seven Who Feed.

What if I'm planning to move?
Because I’ll be charging shipping when the game is ready to ship, I’ll reach out to make sure your address is up to date before the game actually ships out to you. Locking surveys and locking addresses are different steps - locking the survey makes sure I order enough of everything, locking addresses will happen right before I ship out.

Why are you charging shipping fees separately?
This is a beta feature by BackerKit I’m trying out that hopefully will reflect the most accurate shipping pricing I can get when the shipping happens. In the past, I’ve had to sit on funds for months before shipping has begun, and then shipping rates rise and drop, and I have to hope that the rises and drops even out.
To prevent all of this, the shipping will be charged not upon survey completion, but separately when the game is ready to go out.

How does the custom portrait thing work?
You’ll get an email with all of the instructions, but you’ll be able to submit a photo of yourself (shoulders and above) to be painted in the style of the other game art, along with the name you’d like to have printed on the cultist card.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
Generally, I want you to get my art in your hands, but once we really start shipping, I likely won't check in and if you suddenly finally fill out your survey, I might not even know, and this prevents legal liability in that case.
If you don't fill out your survey in a timely fashion (3 weeks after sending it out), I assume you've changed your mind. No refunds though, sorry.
I'll remind you and send emails, but I can't make you fill it out, so after I lock surveys fulfillment of your pledge rewards is at my discretion. I'll try, but if something sells out by that point, sorry.
All in all, if you pay and you fill out your survey, you'll get your rewards. Thanks!
